5 Tips to Aid You In Building a Strong Employee Base with your Human Resources Department

If the logistics of Human Resources isn't your thing then hire a company that knows Human Resources.  This is the department in your company that can either make it or break it for you. You must have all of your i's dotted and your t's crossed.  Going to the office one day and finding out someone endured discrimination from one of your team members and the situation was not handled appropriately could potentially destroy your company.  

When you decide on a Human Resources team for your company make them a priority.  They will need your assistance and follow through to achieve success.  Make sure they are in direct communication with preferably one person as their everyday contact.  Ensure that your point of contact be someone who will follow through expediently on any requests submitted by your new Human Resources Department.  Do not confuse the situation by giving them several different contacts unless necessary.

Consider a mandatory new hire on-boarding orientation in which you can send your new employees ensuring they are aware of your procedures.  Your Human Resources team can put it together for you easily.  You should also have a form for each subject covered for your new employee to sign off on upon completion of the course.  This backup documentation showing completion very well could come in handy in the future.   

Treat all of your new hires with respect but also lead by example.  One of the biggest reasons people leave their jobs is because of their relationship with their superiors at the work place.  It is possible to successfully groom employees to exactly what you need with a relationship built on mutual respect.  Remember that everything you do will send a message loud and clear of what you will and will not accept as a company.  Staying positive and lifting people up is what is important.   A little acknowledgement and approval will go a long way.  Being positive and enthusiastic about your position with the company will lead your staff towards success.    It is very easy to poison every single member of your staff with negativity of one.  If a member of management is negative and short-tempered it sends a message of a future with your company that will be much of the same and it gives them nothing to look forward to.  Be honest with people, tell them what they need to work on and keep them informed.   Be kind when showing a new hire the ropes, take your time, and be present. Don't act distracted and hurried.  Set them up for success!
